This is a first-time problem for me on any phone. My guess is the threading mechanism internally thinks something else is using the microphone, while I'm trying to take a video. This causes the video to stop and the voice recording to stop. To find out what all has access to the microphone go to settings. The problem on Android 11 is in settings you can't see the microphone directly. In other words you have to search for the word microphone, and then the microphone settings come up. So then you can easily look at what has access to the microphone. Even after denying all the other apps access to the microphone the camera would still complain that the microphone is in use. Currently the problem was solved by rebooting the phone. Somewhat disappointing for a $950 phone, that cost much less at this point.
