When Google got into the browser business it made sense. They have a product that is the envy of their worst competitors, Google search . And the search product is completely dependent on those same cheating lying backstabbing competitors. It's enough to make you worry.
But why get into the phone business? Only one company has a long standing reputation for making all the software and hardware themselves, Apple. Microsoft has tried, but generally fails. And even Apple customers use Google search, in fact everybody uses Google search. It feels liked Google has gone Apple on us. They want it all. All your business, all the money, all the markets, all of everything. Frankly they even sound like Apple. We are going to take away features because...WE don't want them. The strange paradox is that the more successful these guys become the more we the consumer will lose. We lose those lean hungry young companies that are desperate to win your business and throw in tons of cool features nobody wants, just to make you happy. Instead we hear things like, nobody wants a headphone jack, who needs an SD card, not you. Please quiet down and buy another Pixel phone.
Well Google, where is Atari today? Where is Sears? Not to mention the Roman empire. You're never too big to fail.
