Genesis has the events that start up this round of testing and preparation before the millennium. God creates the heaven and Earth. But within the second chapter God is threatening to kill people. And in chapter 3 the whole creation goes to shit. It is a strange tale of woe. By chapter 6 God kills every animal and bird on land except for what is floating in a big boat. The whole thing seems very ill conceived. One disaster after another. Where is the happy path to this thing?
God continues killing people and we eventually learn, later in the Bible, that everyone that flunks the test gets thrown into an eternal lake of fire.
It appears that Satan and his angels are already doomed to eternal damnation before the whole thing starts. There is no direct account of the fall of Satan, but he always does evil stuff. Genesis doesn't directly talk about Satan, man seems so flawed God spends a lot of time killing people and directing activities.
By the time Abraham comes along people are killing each other, having same gender sex, and having sex with animals. God never explains why these things are even possible. Why don't people pair up for life like wolves or ducks? these are recent descendants of the people and animals that came off of the big boat. I believe God is infinite, ands can do anything. Why didn't God adjust the brains and souls of the boat survivors to continue with better results? Why start over with more failures?
God let's things go completely wrong, and then takes fatal corrective action. This is a theme that will continue until the eternal lake of fire and eternal Paradise, which is still in the future.
Since God is infinite, it allows God to contain eternal evil and destruction, while enjoying eternal happiness and bliss. It isn't clear why both are present for all eternity.
