far exceeds

I worked at one company for 18 years. Throughout that period they gradually changed their rating system. But it generally lumped people into one of five categories. Does not meet Meets most Meets company standards Exceeds expectations Far exceeds  For years I thought that at some point I would get the highest rating. But it never happened. I think the best I ever got was "meets standards". Many years I got "meets most". This rating means, we're not going to fire you this week, but if we come up with a good reason we might. Why would you keep beating your head against that wall for 18 years? Well supposedly I had a fairly high IQ , but unfortunately that doesn't keep you from being stupid .

dumb ass speaking

2Pet.2   [15] Which have forsaken the right way, and are gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness; [16] But was rebuked for his iniquity: the dumb ass speaking with man's voice forbad the madness of the prophet .

Apple vs Google phones

Google is being a copycat of Apple. Apple never adds SD cards  Apple has no 3.5mm Jack  Apple charges $100 for more memory  (See the pattern?) Apple makes their own processors (Pixel 6) Apple focuses on the coolness Factor. (Pixel 6) Apple has fewer models  Apple sticks to high end expensive phones  Apple is applying theme colors throughout the GUI. Apple thinks they are awesome 😅😎 dude

my phone history

My first encounter with any telephone was in junior high. I was 13 and had never touched a phone. Eventually the girl answered her phone and went out with me. It was nerve wracking, all that phone technology, and asking a girl out. Fast forward to my first smart phone, a $50 little 4" LG model. At first it just sat in my pocket, but slowly the browser and camera sucked me in. After about 6 months it was in use about 1 hour a day. That's was a lot. Next came a Samsung Galaxy S3. It changed my life. The camera was decent, and the phone was capable of doing amazing editing tasks with an app called "quick edit". It has regular expressions, which made it a very simple web page development tool. It was my first real smart phone that did almost everything a computer could do. Then came a used Samsung Galaxy S7. It lasted 2 weeks and never actually got the SIM activated. The screen seemed dim, and the processor was faster, but really disappointing. Next was Xiaomi Redmi not...

pixel 2 xl , 3xl, 4xl

I currently own a pixel 2 XL. At this point it is a 5-year-old design. It still gets pretty good reviews on the internals even for being so old. Apparently some of the progress has kind of slowed down. Processor improvements and even camera improvements are minimal. It took excellent pictures 5 years ago and it still takes excellent pictures today. Having said that the pixel 3 and pixel 4 are starting to come down in price quite a bit. So let's talk about that. The pixel 3 has some improvements but nothing major. The big thing that everybody points out between the pixel 3 and the pixel 2 is the screen. The pixel 2 screen is somewhat faded looking compared to the typical phone. It's still very sharp the colors are still in color and it works just fine, but really it doesn't look like something that used to cost $950. Still that's what they sold it for. So that alone really doesn't make it worth upgrading to pixel 3. The pixel 3 screen is slightly bigger but the pro...

passenger car tires

After buying 16 inch diameter car tires over many years on a variety of family vehicles here are some thoughts. #1 buy a vehicle with 16 inch or smaller diameter factory tires. #2 don't buy a car with 17 inch or larger rims and then decide to get 16 inch rims when you need tires. This is tempting, because 16 inch tires are cheaper than the bigger 17+ inch tires. Many cars will allow smaller rims, but it's a big headache. If you have lots of money buy: Michelin Bridgestone Continental  in no particular order. These are premium tires. They will generally be quieter. Otherwise go to Walmart or Discount Tire. Do not go to Costco or Sam's club. At Walmart or Discount Tire insist on getting their cheaper tires. Get the factory size tire for your car. In 2022 they should run $65-75 a tire. Make sure the tires have a tread warranty of at least 50,000 miles. Get all season radials. In summary: Walmart or Discount Tire Factory size tire All season radials  $60 - $75 each  Min...

million mile phone battery

I will give a sincere word of appreciation to the first company that produces a smart phone with a million mile battery. 🤳📱 Here is some of what it needs to be appreciated: 128GB memory, or current standard  4GB RAM, or current standard  SD card slot  3.5mm headphone jack  6 inch, 600nit or brighter screen. Dual Bose speakers  Finger print unlock on side or back. Snapdragon 800 series processor, or current  And a long list of stuff on iPhone and Android phones. The idea is to have $200-$2000 phones with a million mile battery. If the first phone costs $1000+, that is a big loser.

thy loins

Bible, King James Version 14 matches. Gen.35 [ 11 ] And God said unto him, I am God Almighty: be fruitful and multiply; a nation and a company of nations shall be of thee, and kings shall come out of thy loins ; 1Kgs.8 [ 19 ] Nevertheless thou shalt not build the house; but thy son that shall come forth out of thy loins , he shall build the house unto my name. 2Kgs.4 [ 29 ] Then he said to Gehazi, Gird up thy loins , and take my staff in thine hand, and go thy way: if thou meet any man, salute him not; and if any salute thee, answer him not again: and lay my staff upon the face of the child. 2Kgs.9 [ 1 ] And Elisha the prophet called one of the children of the prophets, and said unto him, Gird up thy loins , and take this box of oil in thine hand, and go to Ramoth-gilead: 2Chr.6 [ 9 ] Notwithstanding thou shalt not build the house; but thy son which shall come forth out of thy loins , he shall build the house for my name. Job.38 [ 3 ] Gird up now thy loins li...

Doomed or Saved

What if we were all born with either doomed or saved stamped across our foreheads. How would this change life? You would go through life either knowing that you're going off to the eternal Paradise or off to the lake of fire when you die. Would the saved people walk around feeling sorry for the doomed people? Would the doomed people be super bad since they're doomed anyway? Would everybody just basically still act the same way we act today, because scientists would conclude that it was really no meaning to the strange labels that we all received. They're random and meaningless, just like the rest of existence.  Maybe the doomed people would try really really hard to be good hoping for some less degree of eternal punishment. Maybe they saved people would turn into real jerks since, hey I'm saved for all of eternity too bad for you. Would opposites still attract? The year of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ, 2022. It's shaping up to be a real doosie.

Santa God

He knows if you've been sleeping He knows if you're awake He he knows if you'll be bad or good So what difference does it make? You better watch out You better not cry Better not pout  I'm telling you why Santa God is coming to town

above our pay grade

It appears that understanding the details of existence is above our pay grade. Simple questions that you would think would not require much of an answer are simply beyond us. Fore instance:  Why is there good and evil Why is damnation eternal  Why is there temptation   Why is life a deception Why are we being tested Why 3 instantiations of one God  Why heaven and Earth  Why demons  ... It's a long list with no answers. In the Bible some people ask how long this will go on, but Job is one of the few people that asks why. He never gets an answer, and ends up apologizing to God. We never know why. Job and his 3 friends are terrified of God, and then things go back to normal.  God created everything, thought, force, energy. All concepts and realities, known and unknowable, all done by God. There is no other source.  Daniel is a good example of how strange it all is. Daniel 8 [15] And it came to pass, when I, even I Daniel, had seen the vi...

maple syrup gone wrong

Below are two maple syrup containers. The old style is on the left. Unfortunately the new container has a fatal flaw for me. The handle is too narrow, causing irritation when being poured. This is a shame, because the syrup is good. The price is ok, and the only thing wrong is the deployment mechanism. Currently the old container is being used to hold the new syrup, but transferring each bottle to the old bottle is a hassle. Too bad for them and me. Lose lose situation.

dull headache

2022 is shaping up to be a year to forget. Somewhat a repeat of 2021, which is also a year to forget. On New Year's Eve I went to bed with somewhat of a dull headache, I woke up feeling fine, but by breakfast time sort of that dull sense of unhappiness was lingering somewhere in my frontal lobes. Jedi can see a short distance into the future, but I don't think this is what they're talking about. Plus I don't seem to have any Jedi powers, whatever that is. But it does seem to be a foreboding of things to come. Another year completely dependent on Jesus, which all years should be completely dependent on Jesus. Jesus says by your words you'll be justified and by your words you will be condemned, so I don't want to get off on the wrong foot here. Does saying it's going to be a fantastic year make it a fantastic year?  Never never make New Year's resolutions. If it wasn't worth doing yesterday it's not worth doing today. saying you're going to d...
